Forget Cholesterol and Cut Sugar?!
Forget Cholesterol and Cut Sugar?!
“An expert medical panel has released its recommendations to the U.S. Government in a 570-page document (February 2015) that provides new advice on preventing heart disease. That advise? Forget cholesterol and cut sugar! 1 They say there is “strong evidence” that eliminating certain food groups (like cholesterol) is not necessary. 2 They say it is OK to eat saturated fat, red meat, eggs, and more. 3 And they say their new recommendations are based on new scientific evidence.
New scientific evidence? What a crock! The evidence is old, has been published in Health Alert for over 30 years, and has been called quackery up until now. So, according to medical experts, forget cholesterol and cut sugar. Holy mackerel! What happened to three decades of stern medical advice on adhering to a low-fat diet? And no to eating eggs? No to butter and yes to margarine? No to coconut oil? What about the American Heart Association’s low-fat, low-cholesterol, and zero-cholesterol non-food abominations?
New scientific evidence? It is 30 years too late and won’t matter anyway – doctors will continue to ignore it.”
