Dr. Glen Palmisano - "Voted Best Chiropractor" by The Bristol Press and The Observer publications

FullSizeRender.jpgDr. Glen Palmisano made the decision to become a chiropractor when he personally experienced relief from chronic neck and low back pain after being treated by a chiropractor. This occurred years after being involved in a motor vehicle accident with a drunk driver when he was a teenager. “I originally started treating with an orthopedic and later a neurosurgeon and both physicians initially recommended surgery. Surgery made me and my family apprehensive knowing that statistics showed a less than 50 percent chance of a good outcome. As an alternative the physicians prescribed oral medication, a rigid back brace and physical therapy. I continued this regimen for over 8 years. I was living in Michigan working for Hughes Tool Co. in the oil industry at the time and the winter cold made my condition unbearable. My wife’s accounting client was a chiropractor, I met her at his office and he noticed I was wearing the back brace. He started talking to me about my condition and subsequently performed a physical examination. He recommended chiropractic adjustments and rehabilitative exercises and threw my back brace into the trash can. I knew nothing about the chiropractic profession and was applying to dental schools at the time. He began treating me with chiropractic adjustments and rehabilitative exercises and I stopped the medication all against the recommendations of my surgeons. The results of my chiropractic care were life changing.”

Dr. Palmisano’s original Bachelor of Arts Degree was in Business Administration, after his chiropractic experience he returned to school to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduation he interned under the guidance of Dr. William Yoham in South Miami, Florida and later returned home to Connecticut to start his own practice. He is further certified with over 300 hours of post graduate Chiropractic Rehabilitation training and received his Fellowship certification with the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture.

Dr. Palmisano has treated his patients since 1988 in his Bristol and West Hartford Connecticut offices with the memory of that personal experience always in the back of his mind. He specializes in chiropractic care combined with active rehabilitative therapy and acupuncture to achieve the best possible outcome for each patient’s individual needs.
