Soft tissue injuries are injuries to muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and fascia. These injuries include, but are not limited to muscle tightness and tension, tendonitis, sprains and strains, fasciitis, and numbness and tingling caused by nerve entrapments. We have several methods available to treat soft tissue injuries in our offices.
· Active Release Techniques ® (A.R.T®) - “The Gold Standard in Soft Tissue Treatment.” ART® is used by many professional athletes and is very effective in treating a wide variety of conditions using hands on treatment paired with patient motion. · Trigger point therapy- pressure is applied to specific trigger points, which are tender nodules in taut bands of muscles with predictable pain referral patterns. This therapy helps relieve muscle tension and decrease pain.
· Post Isometric Relaxation (PIR)/ Post Facilitated Stretch (PFS) – these stretching techniques can help improve range of motion, decrease muscle tension and trigger points, reduce pain, and improve function.
