“ Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start” Nido Qubein

Hi! I’m Sean Jarman. I grew up in Southwest Virginia in a large family that was very service minded. It was just who we were. When I was 18 years old, I was given the book “The Road Less Travelled” written by Dr. Scott Peck. This book was transformational for me and literally changed my life. It was then that I decided to become a counselor and started the journey to help others through their suffering. I had no idea that this “road less travelled” would be such an amazing journey of healing for all of us.

After majoring in Psychology from Emory and Henry College, I began working with At-risk teens in a wilderness camp in Hendersonville, NC. This experience was “baptism by fire” at what is truly deep and authentic in the human experience. The relationships made were as incredible as the changes and success of these youth. From there I went on to get my Masters in Counseling from Clemson University and became a Licensed Professional Counselor.

For the last 20 years I have worked in a wide variety of setting including adolescent and adult Outpatient and Inpatient units, nursing homes, schools and public behavioral health. I have been privileged to work with so many types of people and a variety of problems from Depression to Schizophrenia to trauma and substance abuse. I have also been a public speaker and trainer on mental health issues for public and private institutions.

Along the way, I enhanced my skills to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Tappas Acupressure Technique (TAT), LENS Neurofeedback, Reiki and other practical tools such as the Photonic Stimulator (or Cold Laser) for pain.

The LENS Neurofeedback is an amazing tool and provides relief from depression and anxiety by increasing neuroplasticity in the brain’s neural functioning through carrier waves sent through 2 sensors placed at various points on the scalp. This increase in functioning and Positive results can also also treat ADHD, trauma, Pain, addiction, anger, sleep, mood, cognition, sensitivity, reactivity, resiliency.

Imagine being able to reduce or not having to take or reduce medications to treat these problems.

One of my favorite and memorable cases is of young adult who was trying to get through college but had such anxiety he had to rely on medication just to make it to class and to study. Through LENS Neurofeedback, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Reiki he was able to come fully off his medications, complete his classes, (including Public Speaking), increase his social group and Graduate. He then went on to land an amazing job in a new city, after many interviews that never seemed to cause the anxiety like in the past. He is living an amazing Extra Ordinary life.

This is only one of many success stories that Jump Start clients have experienced.

So let me help you, as I have done with so many, to…..

…A New Beginning, A New Life, A New You!
