Medical Imaging

Radiology

Our office is equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging using CR (computed radiography), which provides superb CR digital images. We offer a full range of x-ray exams including spine and extremities.

Reason for Imaging?

X-rays are often taken on patients to give the physician an inside look at what is going on with the bone structure of the entire spine and surrounding skeletal structure. From this x-ray, we are better able to assess the current condition, as well as any potential further issues including the potential possibility for referral for advanced imaging such as an MRI or CT scan.

Be Prepared:

If this is your first time ever having an x-ray, here are some things you should know:

  • You will be asked to change into medical scrubs or gown, if you are wearing clothes that include metal (jeans, for example).  To avoid this, please choose to wear sweat pants/metal-free clothes for the appointment.
  • An area will be made available to you, for your personal belongings.

What Next?

When your imaging is all done, the physician will review the x-rays with you, and answer any questions that you have. If the x-rays are an outside referral request, it will be sent to the ordering, referring, or continuing care providers in a DICOM format. As another option, patients and providers can obtain the images via CD format, Patients may also choose to have a CD mailed to them to avoid an extra trip to our office.
