Pioneered by David Graston, a professional waterskier and tool and die maker who experienced a debilitating waterskiing injury, this technique has made treatment of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries easier and more effective. By means of simple but specially designed instruments, lesions within tissues are detected and treated with a stroking type movement, which ultimately helps remove abnormal scarring and resultant inflammation and stimulates proper healing resulting in less pain, and more mobility. Most patients see good results in four to six treatments.
