    CHIROPRACTOR

My purpose as a chiropractor is to help as many people as possible to a greater quality of life. So many people suffer needlessly!  I get great satisfaction in helping people get well without the dangers of drugs and surgery. I grew up in the Okanagan, and received my Doctorate at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College In Toronto, Ontario.

I have taken several post-graduate courses in acupuncture, sports training injury prevention, shiatsu muscle energy technique, and craniosacral therapy. I am a member of the Sports Weight Training Injury Specialists, the British Columbia Chiropractic Association and the Canadian Chiropractic Association.
I was the 2022 Kelowna Masters Bodybuilding Champion and 2022 Masters Physique Champion. I was also the 1984 B.C. Provincial Bodybuilding Champion, the 1986 Central Ontario Bodybuilding Champion, as well as the 1984 and 1994 Okanagan Powerlifting Champion. Therefore, I have an interest in weight training injuries. I also play competitive soccer and hockey and my team won the 2019 Mens Soccer BC Senior Championship Games.  My wife’s name is Darlene, and we have two children – Jenaye and Easton, so I have a huge interest in taking care of families. I love all sports. My wife and I enjoy wakesurfing, skiing and snowboarding together. If it weren’t for chiropractic care, I wouldn’t be able to participate in weight training, skiing, ice hockey, golf, or soccer.

I invite you to come in to see if we can help!

    Dr. Mike Rumpel B.Sc., D.C.
    Chiropractor

It all started with a fall.  Yes, I was one of those kids, dropped on his head!  At age 5, I fell from the top of a slide, falling about 8 feet to the top of my head.  From that point forward many things changed.  My normal happy-go-lucky self, healthy and thriving-self shifted.  I stopped sleeping well, developed significant allergies, started having regular migraines, vomited up to multiple times per day and was hyperactive and destructive.  Something was wrong.  And the Medical doctors could not find anything wrong.

After a few years, my parents were encouraged to take me to a Chiropractor.  And again, it all changed.  From my fall, it was found that I had a severe subluxation (misalignment) of my upper neck.  This was putting pressure on my upper spinal cord which likely resulted in nerve and brain dysfunction and was also the likely explanation for my migraines, daily vomiting, allergies, poor sleep and poor concentration.

I started getting adjusted and my healthy life was returned to me.

When I speak of Chiropractic’s ability to change and save lives I mean it – I am living proof of this.

I have been under regular Chiropractic care for almost 50 years, without which my life would certainly have been radically different.  I likely would not have graduated high school, let alone my 9 years of post-secondary education to receive an honours degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology and a doctorate in Chiropractic.  I may not have met my incredible wife or have had all my amazing children.  I likely would not have been able to compete at a world pro-elite level in mountain biking.  And I most certainly would not have been able to carry the life-changing gift of Chiropractic forward.  To not have been able to impact the literal 1000’s of lives I have had the honour of touching over the quarter century of this career of mine.

Although, this is not merely a career to me.  It is a life path.  I did not choose Chiropractic, it chose me.

As a family, we have stepped into what I would call the “Chiropractic Lifestyle”.  Although far from perfect, we have learned and embraced the concept of health being not merely the absence of symptoms or disease, but health as a wholistic approach that comes from within and considers mind, body and spirit.  Throughout my career I have become very interested in this and have strived to learn more and to teach more.  For over 15 years I was an instructor of a variety of wellness lifestyle classes at the College of the Rockies.  I was awarded a position of Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Western States, allowing me to host Chiropractic students in my office overseeing their Preceptorships.

Teaching and learning have always been important to me.

It is my true hope that the full understanding of Chiropractic continues to evolve, that more people hear of its ability to improve nerve and brain function to restore full wholistic health.  It is also my hope that those in need of help, those who may be helped by Chiropractic, discover this and achieve the life-changing and life-saving results that I was able to receive myself.
