New Patients

Appointments at our office typically begin with a bit of paperwork, as you no doubt would expect. Your skilled chiropractor will perform an examination, and if x-rays are deemed necessary, you will be referred out to get them done in order to learn more about the cause of your pain. We’ll also discuss your current condition and your goals.

We will take a look at the overall results, and, together, come up with a plan of action specifically for you. We will talk about the type of treatment you will be receiving and any preparation necessary before beginning treatment. We will also discuss any lifestyle changes that may help you with your goals. As your partner in improving your health, your chiropractor will be with you every step of the way during your treatment.

Adjusting Technique

Dr. JR primarily uses the Activator technique of adjusting the spine and occasionally he will use light drops in the office. The Activator technique uses a small, hand-held instrument called the Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver a gentle impulse force to the spine.

There are two advantages of an Activator instrument-assisted treatment. The first is based on the speed of the device. The instrument is so quick that the body's muscles are less likely to tense in response, and resist the treatment. The lack of muscle resistance may facilitate the treatment effectiveness. The second is that the applied force is localized and does not add any additional torque or bending movement to the joint.
