Professional athletes are constantly reaching new heights in their professional careers. With each passing year, new records are shattered and the human body is pushed to its limits. Competitors train rigorously and take their diets to a new level every day. Yet despite the conscientious care and precautions that athletes follow, most experience musculoskeletal injuries at one time or another. This occurs when the force placed upon a joint exceeds the restraining capacity of the muscles and ligaments whose job it is to keep the joint intact. A common example is a sprained, or even worse, a dislocated ankle or shoulder.
Other times the injury is to the neck, mid back or low back. This is when the chiropractor is called upon to realign or adjust the spinal vertebrae which have become misaligned due to injury. It is no wonder that nearly all Professional sports teams, Olympic teams, National teams, College teams etc. all have chiropractors on staff! Only chiropractors are specifically trained to locate misaligned spinal segments and restore normal function.
Through the years, Dr. Archambault has provided care for professional, college and high school athletes. He has worked with the Northeastern University Crew team and well as serving the Middlebury College field hockey team. Treatment involves specific chiropractic adjustment to the involved joints but also muscle and ligament rehabilitation. Modalities include interferential muscle stimulation, ultrasound, deep tissue massage and heat/ice application. In addition, comprehensive exercise programs are developed for individual needs.
Chiropractic care meticulously tends to the needs of the athlete because special attention is given to the spine, joints, muscles, tendons, and nerves. Additionally, chiropractic care ensures that all pieces of the musculoskeletal system are working harmoniously in their healthiest, most natural state!
