Therapeutic Ultrasound is used for the treatment of soft tissue injuries. While it shares the same name, this ultrasound is not the same as that used diagnostically to screen the body internally.
What is Therapeutic Ultrasound?
Therapeutic Ultrasound emits small sound waves at an extremely high frequency that is out of the range of human hearing. When applied to the soft tissues, it produces heat that helps reduce inflammation and increase blood flow to the injured area resulting in decreased pain, stiffness, and spasm.
